Braserie Boheme by the Gustavian

it was a long time since i went back to the upper east side of makati. i always explore the west side since my friend who lives in alfaro place migrated to new york (but back to the country again). What i love about the east side of Makati is that the facade is relatively newer than that of the west.

i love how majestic One Salcedo Place looks like and how safe you’ll feel in that community. The weekend bazaar showcasing international cuisine in Salcedo Park is a must see for everyone.

There’s this new building there which my friend said looks like a German architecture, like those buildings in Berlin. I didn’t really care. i wouldn’t know the similarities and the difference anyway since i haven’t ever been overseas. we decided to dine at the new restaurant in the Picasso building, it is a newly built building, and included in the Serviced Apartments category just like the Ascott.

Braserie Boheme is a European Restaurant. and for only 390php you’ll get a full meal and combine it based on your own taste. i had mushroom soup, and then steak, and mango crepe plus a glass of wine! the ambiance is very radiant and it felt so grand with all those artworks on the wall. the best time to go there is at 6pm because when dinner time comes closer, the place gets filled up by expats and business executives from the village. and you’ll know it’s authentic because the chef (i guess he’s italian) goeas around to check customers’ reaction.

a taste of UP in Makati

while still dealing with a hang over this morning, i forced myself to get up and catch brunch with my housemate at Rodic’s along Rufino. of course we ordered the infamous tapsilog, which is now 70php. i remembered that it was priced at 55php when i first ate at their branch in UP. but anyways, the shredded-sweet tapa is exactly the same as that one they serve in UP. they even have this grafitti wall where different university scenes were shown…haaay, i sooo miss college.

super sulit sumptuous sumo sam

I think, this fancy japanese resto in the corner of Archeology wing of the Powerplant mall is the cheaper version of John and Yoko in Greenbelt 5. They’ve got tasty maki, salad, bacon and asparagus, oysters, etc. We ordered The Arena, a set of meal (good for 4-6 persons) good for sharing containing all those above and some others but i forgot the name for only 1,200 pesos. not bad!

When i ate at John and Yoko, we paid one grand for 2 people. sigh! but food is great still and the green, blue and red iced tea are refillable.

but, sumo sam’s house tea is equally good and super fragrant! :

sigh im such a fan of Jap food. :)

yogurt friday

finally met up with my former housemate after a couple of months of not seeing each other. of course, we planned to just sit down and have a lot of chats. we had our dinner at recipes and then dessert at red mango near the greenbelt 3 cinemas…

i sooo love their yogurt! i never loved yogurt but when i tasted theirs, its another fave hang out to be. :)

you’ll enjoy a cup of yogurt with choice of fruit for as low as 80php. now that’s healthy eating!

love at first sight

i planned to go to the rockwell urban bazaar last saturday with my bestfriend. but turned out she cannot go out from work early because of some sort of initiation thingy for new employees. so i just planned to go home to bulacan early and prepare stuff for my night swimming thing with my cousins.

i really thought i have all the time in the world to laze around and savor my fave purefoods corned beef for lunch. when my soul sister pam called and told me she needed be rescued at marciano’s in greenbelt 3.

so i hurried and prepared myself and took a cab on my way there. she bought me pasta and iced tea for lunch while she tells her story that is both funny and odd…hahaha. a bit expensive but i really feel like im among the gossip girls when im in marciano’s

she asked if i wanted to watch the time travellers wife since i have seen UP already and since we have nothing else to do after lunch. i suggested that we go to urban bazaar in rockwell. small world it was because i saw an officemate running a vintage store there. she showed me how a victrola works, i also saw ericka fife of author’s avenue, we had some chats and i noticed she cut her hair short. btw, they have superb laptop bags that im sure you;ll fall in love with check ther multiply site. (http://authors.multiply.com)

i scanned through the stores. i have no plans of getting clothes  because i plan to get it at the guess outlet store. but pam would get angry if i don’t get anything. finally i saw this pair of gladiator shoes. and it was like love at first sight. it was actually pam who convinced me its worth every peso so i bought it, size 7.

Malia-Gunit loooked like these but mine is a better version. i just cant figure out how the bluetooth application of my new laptop works so i cant tranfer the photo from my phone. but i will post it here once pam sent me out bonding photo.

finally i learned how to use my laptop’s bluetooth device. and thi is what i’ve got from rockwell urban bazaar.

ganito kami sa makati

last thursday, my bestfriend visited at my office. after work, we went to cityland to visit some friends. when we’re about to go to greenbelt to have dinner, i asked her if we could drop by my apartment to leave my stuff. while walking, the rain started to pour soooo hard! we’re sharing her little pink umbrella, and i would say that majority of my body is drenched in water. it was a big relief when we reached for my apartment’s gate. after changing my clothes, i looked outside the porch and realized that i was like living beside a river for the flood has gone up. desperate to get to greenbelt for dinner, we rode a tribike going to the don bosco jeep terminal because cabs are nowhere to be found when needed. while safely riding the jeep on my side, i saw a camry rushing towards the opposite direction and splashing a huge amount of flood water on the people seated on the other side of the jeepney, poorly, my bestfriend is on the other side.

so29052007048 she was teasing me, “Ganito kami sa makati… baha!”
